Urgent care survey 2020: What do you do if you need urgent medical attention on the same day?

ENGAGEMENT (NHS VALE OF YORK CCG) <voyccg.engagement@nhs.net>
Dear all,

We are carrying out a survey to find out what people do and where they go if they have an urgent health condition that needs treating on the same day. I would be grateful if you could share this with your communities and ask them to post it in relevant forums.

Urgent care survey 2020: What do you do if you need urgent medical attention on the same day?

Click here to take the survey.

Urgent care services are for when you need medical advice or treatment for a health condition on the same day.

Urgent care covers conditions which are not life threatening but cannot wait until a routine appointment with your GP or other healthcare professional is available. These may be conditions and injuries such as:

  • sprains and strains
  • eye problems
  • skin infections and rashes
  • minor head injuries
  • minor scalds and burns
  • feverish illness
  • abdominal pain
  • severe ear and throat infections.

In order to provide a good service, we want to understand what you already know about urgent care in the Vale of York and when to use it.

We want  to ask a few questions about what you do if you need medical attention on the same day, but are not seriously injured. We also want  to know how you would prefer to access services. This includes your views on medical advice over the telephone and the use of digital technology (such as video consultations).

 About the survey:

The survey is split into three sections:

  • Section 1: How you seek help for an urgent health condition
  • Section 2: If you have been unwell during covid-19, where have you been to treat a health condition and have you used digital technology
  • Section 3: About you – optional questions to make sure that we have asked lots of different people their views

This survey is for any resident of the Vale of York CCG area (including the city of York, Selby and outlying areas, Hambleton, Pocklington and outlying areas).

The survey should take about 5-10 minutes. We would like to thank you for your time, your feedback is really important to us.
