Residents Meeting to discuss the Muga-pitch in the Village

The Parish Council is holding a residents meeting to discuss the future of the Muga-pitch in light of the fact the current surface needs replacing and replacement costs are quoted between £30000 and £40000, and the Parish Council cannot currently finance this.

It is important to note the Parish Council is open to suggestions, however the current options are:

  1. pay for the replacement surface by increasing the precept – this will mean residents of the Parish paying a higher Council Tax for the next financial year.  More information on this will be provided nearer to the date.
  2. pay for the replacement surface with ‘Community Gift’ monies from the solar farms – this is approximately 6 – 12 months away.
  3. Close the Muga-pitch and invest monies elsewhere in the park / village.

The arrangements for the meeting are:

Date         14th October 2024

Location  Assembly Hall, Camblesforth School

Time         1830 – 2030

You must be a resident of Camblesforth Parish to speak at this meeting, and the Parish Council reserve the right to check eligibility to speak on the night.

If you are not able to attend the meeting, please feel free to write to the Parish Council with your view which will be read out at the meeting.  Please ensure you advise if you wish your name to be mentioned at the meeting.
